if we heal our individual trauma

we heal our collective trauma

to be trauma-informed, is to be compassionate

trauma is at the heart of our society’s breakdown; from patriarchy to climate change, from conditioned fear to denial, we are engrossed in a systemic trauma response… if we feed this heart with grace and compassion, we feed our society with goodness and richness…

from North to West…

we embody our core beliefs in partnership with local charities and organizations across California and Northern Ontario to offer our support for accessibility inclusion, indigenous rights, gender-based violence, and environment/climate change… these causes are our community engagement initiatives.

Elevating humanity…

Random Acts of Kindness Fund

We are honoured to support initiatives and projects that uplift communities across the USA and Canada through random acts of kindness. Whether buying pizzas for our community members without homes, or a student-led initiative supporting a local cause, these are random in nature in that they are not part of regular programming and have no other intention than to simply offer peace.

we welcome all of your random acts of kindness initiatives in your communities. pls be invited to submit your ideas in the “contact us” form below.

our story

We are an international 501(c)3 non-profit in Los Angeles California with offices in Ontario, Canada. Through mindfulness, arts/culture, and community engagement, we believe in co-creating a world that is more human — a world built from compassion and with intention, that is safer and more equitable for all: human life, Mother Earth herself, and animal life. We breathe all that we do and act thoughtfully, with intention, and for the greater good. We are founded by multi-award-winning author, host/producer, and certified 200-hr mindfulness meditation guide, Vanessa Ferlaino. Originally from smalltown Sault Ste Marie ON, she knows the importance of supporting rural communities. Be invited to join the movement; be better at being human — for ourselves, for each other, and for the world.

Our logo was designed by Vanessa’s younger sister, Daniella Ferlaino, to honour the essence and interconnectedness of being.

We acknowledge that we occupy land originally and still inhabited and cared for by the Tongva, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh, and Chumash Peoples. This acknowledgment demonstrates our responsibility and commitment to truth, healing, and reconciliation and to elevating the stories, culture, and community of the original inhabitants of Los Angeles County. We are grateful to have the opportunity to live, work, and play on these ancestral lands. We acknowledge that we are also in Robinson-Huron Treaty territory and that the land on which we are gathered is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg, Métis, and Garden River people. We are compelled to acknowledge our colonialist history, the devastation and destruction it has caused, and the ways it continues to damage the lives of so many Indigenous People. Our recognition of the historic importance of Indigenous Peoples is clearly and overtly linked to our collective commitment to continually pursue and make real the Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls to action in our communities. Please be invited to extend this land acknowledgement into a land engagement. There are many opportunities to support our local Indigenous communities with time, money, and other resources to honour and respect these lands through responsible citizenship.
