be a leader, be your voice

Being a leader means we be our voice. When we live with intention, we become our intention — and then, we become our voice.

In social impact/justice, we be this day in and day out. We are consistently checking our intentions and actions are in alignment, while active in conditions riddled with systemic trauma.

How do we be this mindfully? Trauma is present within us and also around us. Identifying individual and systemic trauma patterns in our teammates, work cultures, and even social communities empowers us to show up authentically.

How do we be this while safeguarding our own trauma? Speaking up can be exhausting, and sometimes, it can bring up our own trauma responses. Somatics is an “embodied practice” that allows us to safely acknowledge our own trauma, while navigating systemic trauma simultaneously.

Often, embodying our inner leader means we emphasize, or maybe even prioritize, the how. Balancing the intention with “the how” can be confusing, and may even feel contradictory. But they work together to prioritize safety.
